As the world gears up to celebrate 'International Yoga Day', around 30,000 people will be participating in programmes organised to observe the maiden day in the city tomorrow.

The two major events will be held at separate locations here.

A meeting was chaired by district collector Avantika Singh Aulakh to review the preparations.

Around 20,000 persons will perform Yoga at the sports complex located in Sama locality where Gujarat Finance Minister Saurabh Patel will be present.

Another event will be held in Majalpur locality where 10,000 people are expected to perform Yoga.

Apart from these, separate arrangements have also been made at 12 wards of the Vadodara municipal corporation for Yoga Day celebrations.

Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said educational institutions across the state have organised Yoga sessions at 29,000 places.

"Health is everything. Yoga makes one fit so it is the best natural way to follow the fitness track. Even if 30 minutes are taken out for yoga everyday, it can prove very fruitful," he said.
