MDMK chief Vaiko today lashed out at ruling AIADMK and DMK on issue of state run liquor outlets and claimed people were against both these parties.
Addressing a meeting of his party workers here, he slammed both the parties on the running of state run TASMAC liquor outlets and claimed thousands of families had been ruined because of these outlets.
Both parties were responsible for ruining the lives of these families, he charged.
He claimed the proposedstate level conference of the People's Welfare Front, comprising his party, the left parties and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, at Madurai would turn the attention of the people towards MDMK and its allies.
He hit out at DMK for allegedly luring his party functionaries by offering positions.
Any effort to destroy the MDMK would be defeated, he said and wondered "If the DMK does not have cadres and has to pull cadres from the MDMK."
His statement comes in the wake of some MDMK workers joining DMK.
He said MDMK had survived 22 years with the help of selfless cadres and their objective was to retrieve the state from "corrupt and evil forces" and people with such objectives could not be destroyed, he said.
