Vaishnav scholar Jibakanta Mahanta dead

Noted Vaishnav scholar Jibakanta Mahanta died today following a cardiac arrest at Titabor in Jorhat district.
He is survived by his brother and son, family sources said.
Mahanta, belonging to the non-celibate category of Sattras, was also the head or Sattradhikar of 'Jalukonibari Horu Thai Nagaria Sattra' in Titabor since 1980.
