These vans will operate till November, showing videos on management techniques, and will distribute literature in all districts and all blocks of the state, an official spokesperson said.
The officers of agriculture department will accompany the vans and make them aware about the management options for crop residue
These vans will raise awareness about the ill-effects of crop residue burning especially paddy straw.
Additional Chief Secretary (Development) M P Singh said the state government is also organising camps to sensitise farmers about management options for residue.
He appealed them not to burn the paddy straw in the ensuing harvesting season given its harmful effects on environment, human and animal health.
