Vardhan spent over an hour in the hospital during which he visited the emergency and cardiology department besides the Burns and Plastic Surgery unit.
He also visited the Central Park in the hospital and the green stretch in front of the nursing home and lauded the hospital's efforts to maintain a green cover.
He then addressed all the HODs at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) at the hospital and said he wants to make it a state-of-the-art hospital.
Out of 280 posts of doctors, 80 posts are vacant at present. Out of the 800 posts for nurses, 200 are lying vacant and one third of the posts for para-medical staff are yet to be filled up.
Government recently has sanctioned Rs 3.6 crores for installation of Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) in the hospital.
