Vice Chancellor of the varsity Bansh Gopal Singh told reporters here that FIRs ought to be registered against the minister's wife as well as an unidentified woman who allegedly sat for a university exam impersonating her, as a "dummy" candidate.
Based on the report of a three-member committee appointed by the university to probe the racket, Singh said that the university has also sought departmental action against the university's assistant examination co-ordinator at Jagdalpur and the examination centre head at Lohandiguda region of Bastar district.
He said that a letter has been written to the Bastar Superintendent of Police to lodge two separate FIRs each against Shanti Kashyap for cheating and the other unidentified accused woman for cheating by impersonation.
Earlier, Chhattisgarh Education Minister Kedar Kashyap had stated that his wife had not applied for the examination, and so there was no question of her appearing for any exam.
"Shanti had filled up examination forms and the university had provided her with study material. She had also submitted her assignments. So it has to be investigated if she filled up her examination forms or not," he said.
