Vasisht beat Faisal in GNC Futures tennis

National champion Vasisht Cheruku put up a clinical display to beat Faisal Qamar in the final qualifying round of the Justice P S Kailasam Centenary GNC International Men's Futures Tennis Championships here today.
Siddarth Vishwakarma downed Rishabdev Ram in three sets, while Nitin Kumar Sinha, the 13th seed, edged past fifth seed Jatin Dahiya 6-4 in the third set.
Neeraj Elangovan, seeded 15th, started strongly against sixth seed Manish Suresh Kumar but fitness problems got in the way and Manish ran out steam to lose 6-0 7-5.
In yet another three setter, 10th seeded Rashein Samuel defeated local favorite Fahad Mohamed 5-7 6-4 6-1.

Rohan Bhatia was too experienced and won in straight sets against host club's Arjun Mahadevan.
The only foreigner in the qualifying draw Zach Itzstein of Australia outplayed third seeded Shaikh Abdullah in straight sets.
Fourth seed Prajwal Dev shrugged of a sluggish start to beat Basil Chuma 7-5 6-0.
