VE Commercial Vehicles sales down 12.3 pc in April

Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today reported 12.3 per cent decline in total sales of Eicher branded products to 3,434 units in April 2014.
The company, which is a 50:50 joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 3,917 units in the same month of last year.
Domestic sales stood at 2,791 units in April as against 3,766 units in the same month, down 25.9 per cent, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.
On exports front, Eicher trucks and buses have recorded sales of 643 units in April as compared to 151 units in the same month previous year, the company added.
