VE Commercial Vehicles sales down 12% in March

Auto maker VE Commercial Vehicles today reported 12% decline in total sales of Eicher branded products to 4,366 units in March 2014.

The company, which is a 50:50 joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 4,962 units in the same month of last year.

Domestic sales stood at 3,839 units in March as against 4,760 units in the same month, down 19.34%, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.

On the exports front, Eicher trucks and buses have recorded sales of 527 units in March as compared to 202 units in the same month previous year, the company added.

For the fiscal 2013-14, the company's totals sales were at 9,814 units as compared to 12,388 units in the previous fiscal, down 20.77%.
