Vedanta says evacuated all expat staff from Ebola-hit Liberia

Vedanta Resources today said it has evacuated all expat staff from its iron ore mines in the Ebola-hit Liberia.
"There is a state of emergency declared by the government of Liberia. All expat staff have been evacuated from the country. All precautions have been taken as per government guidance for all nationals working at Vedanta in Liberia," the mining major said in a statement.
Vedanta group has three iron ore mines, popularly known as Western Cluster (WCL) project in Liberia.
Sesa Goa, the earlier avatar of Sesa Sterlite, had bought the mines for around Rs 600 crore and exploration activity is in progress now.
