With over 10,000 vehicles using this bridge on an average daily, the developments have severely affected communication between two districts, a Nadia official said.
Meanwhile a high-level PWD technical tram visited the affected pillar joint today.
PWD Engineer in chief Kumar Bhattacharjee "We have been inspecting the condition of the bridge and chalking out a solution."
"We have decided to make a temporary path over the bridge to open traffic as soon as possible. Side by side, the repairing works under the bridge will go on. The work for the temporary road will be initiated tomorrow," Bhattacharjee said.
