VEQTA raises USD 500,000 from Chatsworth Management, ITW

Sports digital broadcast network start up VEQTA today said it has raised USD 500,000 (over Rs 3.35 crore) in seed round funding from early stage venture capital firm Chatsworth Management and sports management company ITW.
The venture, which focuses on sports content from across the globe through Video-on-Demand and Live Streaming, had earlier received initial stage backing from ITW, the company said in a statement.
"The funds secured will be used to further expand our rights portfolio, build our team, invest further in product development and grow our consumer reach," VEQTA co-founder Vikram Tanwar said.

Ola signs MoU with international airport in Bengaluru * Taxi aggregator Ola today saidit has signed a pact with Kempegowda International Airport,Bengaluru (KIAB) to provide reliable transportation access totravelers.
Through a 'first-of-its-kind' memorandum of understanding (MoU) between a publicutility space and an online mobility platform, Ola willextend its range of mobility solutions to travelers through a designated 'Ola Zone' at the KIAB, Ola said in a statement.

Taking own devices to work place increases productivity:survey * The implementation of 'bring your own device' (BYOD) policies at the workplaces is witnessing an increasing acceptance, but data security continues to be a deterrent, says a survey.
According to a survey by online recruitment and career solutions portal Wisdomjobs.Com, nearly 30 per cent professionals feel such policies increase their productivity significantly.
However, such policies use a risk-based approach towards data as there is always a risk of data loss when employees are sending sensitive documents to their personal devices or making copies and storing them across multiple devices.

GMR Warora Energy's net loss shrinks to Rs 38 crore * GMR Warora Energy's stand-alone net loss narrowed to Rs 38.4 crore in the six months ended March 2016.
GMR Warora Energy (GWEL), formerly known as EMCO Energy, had reported a net loss from ordinary activities after tax of Rs 177.5 crore in the year-ago period,it said in a BSE filing.
The total income increased to Rs 731.5 crore in the period under review from Rs 595.5 crore a year ago.
Harman International enhances maternity benefits
* Harman International has enhanced maternity benefits for its employees in India, which extends paid maternity leave from three to six months.
The move is aimed at providing a secure and inclusive work environment for the women workforce, which accounts for over 22 per cent of its total employee base in India.
"We offer multiple support system and programmes to our people so they are cared for both professionally and personally," Pradeep Chaudhry, Country Manager, Harman India said.

ZEE to introduce English feed in next 3-5 months on Zindagi * Media conglomerate Zee Entertainment Enterprises' premium channel Zindagi is going to introduce English feed in the next three to five months.
"For our bi-lingual audience, we will be available on a dual feed of Hindi and English. The English feed will be available in three to five months," Zee Entertainment Enterprises Chief Business Officer Sunil Buch told reporters.
The channel, which telecasts shows from Turkey and Pakistan, will also get content from Korea, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Russia, Portugal, Brazil, Germany and Latin America.
