"On one side... Exposure of milk yielding animal to herbal drugs (will be studied). On the other hand, model farm of Sahiwal cow and Jamunapaari goat would be established," Prof K M L Pathak told reporters here today.
He said the university has set up a model herbal garden in the campus in order to encourage herbal farming, which can supplement farmers' income.
The university researchers would study the impact of herbal drugs on milk yielding cattle.
"However, if it does not increase the milk yield and animal maintains its health without suffering from any disease, it would be an added advantage," he said.

He added that farmers would be encouraged for goat keeping through stall feeding, including best use of silage (stored fodder).
Pathak said the state government has sanctioned a plan of Rs 14.5 crore for five projects, including a silage making project, since it increases the milk yield by 20 per cent.
At first, the university would set up a semen station of goats as well as Sahiwal cows.
"Union government has also given permission to university for starting its community radio station," he added.
The university has decided to establish a farm of 100 Sahiwal cows as well as introduce B.Tech in Dairying, he added.
