Veteran game show host Geoff Edwards dies

Veteran TV game show host Geoff Edwards has passed away at the age of 86 after suffering from pneumonia.
According to Edwards' agent Fred Westbrook, the game show legend died of complications related to pneumonia at a health center in Santa Monica on March 5, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Edwards, who was a local LA TV host, rose to fame during 1970s and '80s, by being the emcee of shows such as 'Jackpot', 'Starcade' and two versions of 'Treasure Hunt'.
He might be best known to viewers in the Golden State as the longtime host of 'The Big Spin', the California Lottery's TV show.
Edwards was a regular on Southern California radio for decades, starting in San Diego in the 1950s and landing at KMPC in LA in 1968. He also worked at KFI and the former KSUR.
The chat show host also appeared in a number of TV series such as 'Petticoat Junction' and 'I Dream Of Jeannie', 'The Paper Chase', 'Diff'rent Strokes' and 'Trapper John'.
Edwards is survived by his ex-wife, Suzanne, and his current wife of more than 30 years, Michael; son Todd; daughter Shawn; stepsons Justin and Jason; and nine grandchildren.
