Veteran journalist J N Sadhu passed away here this evening after prolonged illness.
Sadhu was 94.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, former chief minister Shanta Kumar and a host of leaders condoled Sadhu's death.
He worked with The Indian Express for nearly 35 years. After his retirement, he was working as a free lance journalist.
He is survived by two sons, a daughter and grand children.
He was not well for the past one year and had stopped eating for the last three four days, family sources said.
The Himachal unit of India Media Centre described the demise as a great loss to the state, saying an era of fearless journalism has come to an end with his death.
