VHP and Bajrang Dal activists today took out a protest march in Guru Hargobind Nagar area here against the Uttar Pardesh government's crackdown on their Ayodhya Yatra.

Led by District VHP President Kailash Gupta protesters also held a rally outside the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) S K Singla and raised slogans against UP government, denouncing arrest of sadhus and aged VHP leaders like Ashok Singal.

Terming ban on Yatra and indiscriminate arrests as violation of fundamental and religious rights of Hindus, protesters sought intervention of the President of India for restoring these rights.

Protesters presented a memorandum to ADC for forwarding it to the President.

In memorandum, they demanded construction of Ram mandir at Ayodhaya, permission to hold Yatra and immediate halt to alleged denigration of sadhus and VHP leaders by their arrest.

Swami Surya Partap Singh, a religious leader and VHP leaders Ajay Kochhar, Hari Kishan Duggal addressed the rally.
