"We strongly condemn the reduction in Yatra period from 60 days to 39 days this year, VHP secretary Vinyakrao Deshpande said here.
Defying the central government's and the J&K government's order to start yatra from June 25, VHP would send 11,000 volunteers to Amarnath on June 4, Deshpande said.
Also, on May 6, VHP would hold a country-wide "shivbhakti abhiyan" on the issue, he said.
He alleged "terrorists" and Muslim organisations such as Hurriyat Conference put pressure on the government to curtail yatra days from 60 to 47 last year, and to 39 days now. PTI GG KRK
