"We welcome the High Court judgement scrapping the 4.5 cent sub-quota for minorities.
"The verdict is a severe indictment of the policy of Muslim appeasement pursued by the UPA government," VHP International Working President Praveen Togadia said in a statement here.
"The government should immediately withdraw its notification regarding the quota and apologise to the nation for its unconstitutional action," he said.
Holding that the Centre acted in a "casual manner", the Andhra Pradesh High Court quashed the 4.5 per cent sub-quota for minorities carved out of 27 per cent OBC reservation --a verdict that may affect admissions already made in central educational institutions such as IITs.
