VHP will not tolerate 'Love Jihad': Togadia
Press Trust of India Patna Opposing religious conversion, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) President Praveen Togadia today said it will not tolerate 'Love Jihad' and would continue to protest against it.
"The issue of religious conversion is a big one in India and needs to be checked," he told reporters here.
Referring to 'Love Jihad', he said, "VHP is a supporter of love...But why should there be even a talk of religious conversion of the girl concerned? We will never tolerate this. Conversion is also illegal according to the Constitution," Togadia said.
He said Ram Temple in Ayodhya is still 'very much' on the VHP's agenda.
Togadia was here in connection with the World Hindu Congress (WHC), scheduled to be held from November 21 to November 23 in New Delhi on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of VHP, which, he said, will be attended by 1,500 delegates from different countries of the world.
