Viacom18 Motion Pictures has collaborated with Hollywood studio Lionsgate for marketing and distribution of five movies, including much-anticipated "La La Land" and "Deepwater Horizon", set to hit Indian theatres in coming months.
Mark Wahlberg-starrer "Deepwater Horizon", a biographical disaster film based on the 2010 Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, has been helmed by Peter Berg.
It premiered at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
Festival-favourite romantic musical comedy "La La Land" stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in the lead roles, and has been directed by Damien Chazelle.
The plot follows a musician and aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles.
Other three films in the offing are — "Patriots Day", "Saban's Power Rangers" and "Nerve".

Morris Street Advisors, which represents Lionsgate in India, facilitated this multi-film collaboration between Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Lionsgate.

While Lionsgate Executive Vice President of International Sales, Wendy Reeds, added that the Indian market is a territory with tremendous box office potential.
"We expect these five eagerly-anticipated films to resonate with Indian moviegoers all year long," he said.
