The breakthrough was reached at a tripartite meeting today bringing joy to some 5,000 workers employed in the mill.
The mill will reopen from tomorrow but production would begin from January 6.
Victoria Jute mill was shut down after a section of angry workers had beaten up manager in the wake of a suspension-of-work notice pasted outside the hessian department.
The jute mills were suffering from low production due to poor demand. The Centre had been dilution the mandatory jute packaging order leading to lower demand.
