Videocon Telecom's security and surveillance arm Videocon WallCam today announced its foray into the entry-level internet based CCTV camera solutions segment with a target to garner around 21 per cent market share by 2021.
"Demand for CCTV solutions in retail segment, which includes households, shops and offices, (is) expected to grow by over three times in organised trade.
"With our 'Eco Series' priced at Rs 4,990 comprising 4 units of camera and a DVR, we expect to be among top 3 players by 2021 in the segment," Videocon Telecom CEO Arvind Bali said.
The Eco Series comes with 1 megapixel (mp), 1.3 mp and 2 mp analog high definition indoor and outdoor cameras with option of 4, 8 and 16 channel DVRs (Digital Video Recorders).
"Buyers will have option to access CCTV through their mobile or web. The DVR will have to be connected with internet for this purpose. We have plans to roll out the range in IP based solution at a later stage," Bali said.
The Eco Series will be available at CCTV and electronic stores and the company will start selling it through online channel at a later stage.
"The overall CCTV market is around Rs 3,650 crore in organised segment. It is expected to grow to Rs 9,500 crore by 2021. Retail segment contributes around Rs 450-600 crore at present. To be among top 3 players, we are looking at market share of 20-21 per cent in this segment," Bali said.
