Air Commodore S K Vidhate today took over the command of the Air Force station, Jodhpur.
Out-going Air Commodore B Saju, who is proceeding abroad for a course in the UK, handed over the charge of the command to Vidhate in a ceremonial function.
This is Vidhate's fourth posting at the station.
While talking to mediapersons, Vidhate said he was not new to this station.
"I have seen this station growing significantly through all my postings here and my duty would be further the developmental steps taken by all my predecessors," he said, terming it to be his privilege to be at the command of the station.
An alumni of the National Defence Academy, Vidhate was commissioned in the fighter stream in June 1987. He has flown more than 2,500 hours on the MIG 21 and MIG 27 variants and is a qualified Pilot Attach Instructor and Fighter Strike Leader.
