Vidit maintain lead at the Rose Valley Open Chess

Vidit is now half a point ahead of top seeded Radoslaw Wojtaszek of Poland, Dzhumaev Marat of Uzbekistan, Deep Sengupta, Swapnil Ghopade.

He today conceded half point to compatriot SP Sethuraman after tricky battle of 44 moves.

While Deep Sengupta beat lowly ranked Utkal Ranjan Sahoo, Swapnil caused an upset by overpowering one of the title contenders GM Abhijit Gupta.

Marat, who lost his sole lead to Vidit in round 5, today bounced back with a worthy draw against Wojtaszek.

For the third consecutive day, Suryasekhar Ganguly had to be satisfied with just half a point. Today he mutually agreed to share point after just 18 moves with Rolando Nalto of Philippine, who had very good run so far in the tournament.

Sandipan Chanda today overcame talented Askhayraj Kore without much exhaustion. Sandipan and Surya were now in joint third position.
