Indian tourist arrivals in Vienna grew by 11.7 per cent in June to 10,659, compared with 9,543 Indians visiting the Austrian capital in the same month last year, due to growing direct air connectivity.
The month of June also witnessed 8 per cent growth in Indian travellers recording bed nights at 23,499, according to the data given by the Vienna Tourist Board.
In the first six months of 2018, there was a 4.3 per cent rise in Indian tourists to Vienna with 66,828 bed nights, compared with 64,075 in the year-ago period.
Tourist arrivals from India to to Vienna rose by 5 per cent to 30,445 in the first half, compared with 29,022 in the same period last year.
The Vienna Tourist Board said India continue to be its high growth tourist markets along with China and Russia.
The rising number of Indian travellers to the city of castles and palaces has been aided by growing direct air connectivity, the board said.

India's national carrier Air India, which had been operating a direct Delhi-Vienna flight three days a week, added one more flight to the Austrian capital in its summer enhancing seating capacity by 33 per cent, it said.
Overall, the city hosted 7.2 million travellers from across the globe in January-June 2018, a 4.1 per cent increase over 6.9 million tourists in the year-ago period.
