During his two-and-a-half hours visit, the Minister toured various departments including intensive care unit to inspect the kind of facilities being given to the patients. He was not happy with the services, an official spokesperson said.
He was surprised to see that outdoor patients have been prescribed medicines on the out-patient tickets by the doctors which were to be bought from the market, he said.
Vij said that there was neither shortage of medicines nor of the resources in the state, if still the patients have to purchase medicines from the market, then the issue would be investigated.
He found that the X-ray machines were not being utilized to their full potential, he said.
Later on, the Minister said that he has been receiving complaints about carelessness of the staff of the medical college and during his visit, he observed that the ground reality was bad.
