Vijayan Rajes elected UPASI president

Vijayan Rajes has been elected as the president of United Planters' Association of Southern India (UPASI) for the year 2014-15.
Vijayan owns MSP Plantations, Yercaud and has been serving on the Executive Committee of UPASI since 2002-03. He served as member of Coffee Board during 1990-1993 and was vice-chairman in 1993.
He was the chairman of Planters' Association of Tamil Nadu, an UPASI release said here today.
N Dharmaraj has been elected as the vice-president of UPASI. He is chief executive and whole-time director of Harrisons Malayalam Ltd and is currently a member of Tea Council of South India.
Both were elected unanimously at the Annual General Meeting last night at Coonoor in nearby Nilgiris district.
