According to police sources, the accused, Anita Santosh Taur (25) had bad relations with her husband Santosh Taur (30) due to which they used to quarrel everyday.
On Monday night, after they quarrelled the accused allegedly slit Santosh's throat with a scythe and then hit the head of her two-and-a-half year old daughter. She also inflicted injuries on herself in an attempt to commit suicide.
When a relative, Lata Taur heard screaming from the home, she began knocking on the door, only to find that the door was bolted from inside and could not be opened.
Villagers admitted them to a government hospital where the baby succumbed to her injuries, while Anita is critical. Assistant police inspector Nandak Sonone said that Santosh had been mentally ill for many days for which he was undergoing treatment.
The police has registered an offence against Anita for allegedly murdering husband and daughter.
