The panchayat, which was held in Khanpur Khurd village in Jhajjar district, about 35 km away from Rohtak yesterday, has ordered the villagers not to maintain any ties with the families otherwise they may have to face the boycott as well.
The accused and the girl belong to Gahlawat gotra.
Presided over by Mahender Singh Gahlawat, the panchayat was attended by over 500 people of five villages Bahu, Kheda Tharu, Khanpur Kalan, Jhhamri and Khanpur Khurd village.
"The panchayat, after discussing the incident for about four hours and keeping in view the opinions of various senior villagers at the meeting, directed all the villagers not to keep any communication with the families.
"The panchayat also said no one would go to their houses and help them out in any matter," Gahlawat said.
"Family members of the accused were also called at the panchayat to know their views about the incident. They also admitted before the panchayat that their kin had broken the social custom of our society hence they are ready to face any verdict whichever the panchayat will issue," Manjeet Gahlawat, Sarpanch of Jhhamari village said.

The panchayat had also formed an 11-member-committee to meet Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda "for seeking arrest of the accused."
The Salhavaas Police had, on November 19, booked three youths of Khanpur Khurd village under section 363/ 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her into marriage) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on the complaint of girl's father in this regard.
"One of the accused has been arrested while raids are being conducted at possible hideout of remaining two others," Surender Singh, SHO of the Salhavaas Police Station, said, claiming that the two would also be nabbed soon.
