Hundreds of residents of Kumarhat village in Dumka district blocked Dumka-Bhagalpur road this morning in protest against the killing of a boy in police firing yesterday in the same area.
Hundreds of villagers had put up a blockade on the road yesterday after a villager was run over by a speeding truck, Deputy Commissioner of Dumka Harsh Mangla said.
Mangla said that the OC of Hansdiha police station, Ramawatar Yadav, was injured when the villagers threw brickbats and damaged glasspanes of several vehicles during yesterday's blockade.
Yadav has been admitted to the Saraiyahat Health Centre.
This morning the villagers resumed their agitation and put up a blockade on the same Dumka-Bhagalpur road carrying the body of the boy.
