"Villages have enormous talent. Proficient training will make the unemployed skillful and attain self-sustenance," Mishra, who is the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, said.
Suggesting that mineral-rich Jharkhand could impart training to the youth that can be based on respective mining sectors, Mishra said there was enormous potential in developing villages which has faced years of neglect and led to increase in the list of people living under below poverty line there.
He also appealed to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Swachh Bharat Mission" a success by 2019.
"Vikas Bharti", which organised the function here, is working in Gumla, Latehar, East Singhbhum, Ranchi and in other places, providing skill training and making the beneficiaries self-sufficient and self-dependent.
The NGO is working on programmes like education, health, vocational skill development, women empowerment, community institutions and survey, research and sensitisation.
