Vinod ton takes Kerala into Buchi Babu cricket quarterfinals

Kerala openers Vishal Vinod (120) and Sachin Mohan (98) struck a smashing 197-run partnership to help the team sail past Odisha and book their quarterfinal berth in the ongoing Buchi Babu Memorial Cricket tournament here today.
In the third and final round of league matches, Kerala overcame Odisha's 334 runs to post 337 for five in 67 overs.
In another tie, TNCA President's XI off-spinner M Prabha claimed seven for 50 and left-arm spinner Rahil S Shah took three for 36 to dismiss Andhra for a paltry 122.
Alongwith Kerala, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha, Hyderabad and TNCA President's and District XI also progressed to the last-eight stage.
In the battle ahead, UP will take on Gujarat, Kerala plays Assam, Odisha crosses sword with TNCA President's XI, while Hyderabad clash with TNCA Districts in the quarterfinals on August 24 after a day's rest tomorrow.
