The 51-year-old actress shares five-year-old daughter, Genesis, with husband Julius Tennon.
When asked how she handles the balance of wanting Genesis to have more than Davis did growing up and appreciating it as it comes, the actress tells People magazine, "You just listed my number one fear, which is entitlement. I never had a house, I do shop at Target, I buy all her clothes at Target or H&M."
Davis, who recently took home the award for the best supporting actress for her role in "Fences" at this year's Oscars, says her husband helps her keep Genesis grounded as he always "holds the little girl accountable" for the things she does.
"He holds her accountable. Me, not so much -- I'm the softie. Really, entitlement. Listen, there are poor kids who are entitled. So I pray," she says.
