Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal today took jibes at each other during the Question Hour in the Assembly.
Intervening during a reply to a question ofthe BJP's Rajiv Bindal regarding the procedure of inauguration and laying of foundation stones for projects, former chief minister Dhumal alleged that plaques ofinauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies during the BJP regime in the state were either being changed or removed and projects already inaugurated were being inaugurated again.
Referring to the case of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank, he alleged that the Chief Ministerhad ordered replacing the foundation stone.
Singh pointed out that the plaque was covering the "entire wall" of the building.
"The length and breadth of the wall was covered by the 'pattika' (plaque) and I have got a photograph of that. This was vulgar display of power and you should have reprimanded the officials responsible for it," he told Dhumal.
Reacting to this, Dhumal said, "You have a strange mentality but when others do it, you find it vulgar."

Taking another potshot at Dhumal, Singh said, "Look into your heart...How much malice, venom and vindictiveness are there."
Dhumal took exception to the language used by the Chief Minister and said either he should withdraw the remark or the Speaker should expunge the same as otherwise, it would be retained in the proceedings as "proof".
Singh said, "Let the remark remain as proof," but Bindal urged the Speaker to expunge it.
