"I will not quit Congress or join or float a party and prefer to quit politics in case the issues raised by me are not addressed", he said while talking to mediapersons here this evening.
Singh, who had meetings with his supporters at his residence at Holley Lodge, said he was seriously concerned about the functioning of the party and has brought all the relevant issues to the notice of the high command and hoped the same would be addressed.
He minced no words in expressing his unhappiness over formation of Congress committees for selection of candidates for coming assembly polls in the state and alleged they were manipulated and a large number of people with no party background or standing have been nominated to DCCs and PCCs in violations of the party constitution.
"There are more observers than the number of candidates and routing the applications through such unwieldy DCCs and PCCs would make the selection of candidates a farce and as such all these committees should be revamped or scrapped or application be sent directly to AICC", he said.
Singh has been kept out of a party's candidate screening committee for the coming polls. The committee is headed by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit.
