Virgin Atlantic promises goodies, upgrades to Indian voters
Press Trust of India New Delhi Premier British carrier Virgin Atlantic will play its role in promoting Indian elections, promising goodies, upgrades and lounge access if its flyers showed their 'inked' fingers at the check-in counter on Thursday when Delhi and some other states go to poll.
"All passengers with the recognisable 'inked' finger will enter a draw for prizes which include cabin upgrades, lounge access and exciting goodie hampers. All the passengers need to do is to exercise their right to vote before they travel on Virgin Atlantic's Delhi-London flight on April 10," a Virgin official said here.
On April 10, 86 constituencies in 13 states, including Delhi which has seven seats, will elect members to the Lok Sabha in the 16th general elections.
"We are proud to operate in the world's largest democracy, and we think it's very important that as many people as possible use their right to vote. This initiative is a way of celebrating everyone who's voted," Virgin's General Manager (India) Stephen King said in a statement.
"We hope this initiative will give support to the general election and encourage people to vote before they fly," he said.
