The visits opened new vistas in IT, energy, education, aerospace and human resource, a Raj Bhavan release quoted the Governor as having said when the US Consul General in Chennai, Philip A Min called on him.
Min said India and US "share an extensive cultural, strategic, military and economic relationship," even as more US companies were looking forward to invest in Tamil Nadu.
"Min stated that US companies like Ford, Caterpillar and others have made investments in Chennai and there are many companies which are looking forward for more avenues since there is a conducive investment climate in Tamil Nadu," it said.
Rao hailed Tamil Nadu for excelling in urbanisation with road, air, sea and rail connectivity, while also stating that it offers 'quality education.'

The Governor said the 'Make in India' policy of Prime Minister Modi "has set the nation's progress on a fast track".
While Mumbai was India's financial capital, Tamil Nadu was its Cultural Capital, he added.
The US Consul General also invited the Governor for 'Year End Celebrations' to be held next month, the release added.
