Tata-SIA run Vistara today crossed the 3-million passenger mark in less than two years of its launching services in the rapidly growing domestic aviation market.
The 3 millionth passengers, Abhinav Adhikari, flew on the airline's Kolkata-Delhi route, Vistara said in a release.
A joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, Vistara had commenced its flight services in January 2015.
The landmark passenger was gifted with a courtesy upgrade to Vistara's Business Class cabin on his flight to Delhi, the airline said.
The Delhi headquartered airline currently enjoys 2.5 per cent market share.
"It (flying three million passengers) is a significant milestone... This milestone celebration could not have been timely, as it is taking place just before Diwali," Vistara Chief Executive Officer Phee Teik Yeoh said.
The airline had taken almost one year's time to achieve the one million passenger mark.

The airline today operates over 515 flights per week from 18 domestic airports with a fleet of 13 Airbus A320 planes.
