Visually impaired children take part in fashion show

Kolkata witnessed a fashion show where visually impaired children rubbed shoulders with the glitterati of the city.
A show last evening co-organised by Amway Foudation and FICCI provided a platform for the Visually impaired children as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) dialogue event.
US Consul General to Kolkata Helen G Lafave walked the ramp with Kanchan Gaba, secretary, National Association for Blinds in support of the cause.
Actors Riya Sen, Indranil Sengupta, Locket Chatterjee, singers Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, Lopamudra Mitra, Rashid Khan, former chief justice Shyamal Sen accompanied the children on the ramp.
Amway India MD &CEO William S Pickney said this was the first time that they organized a fashion show where the visually impaired children were put on stage for dance.
He hoped such events will create greater awareness about CSR.
FICCI Executive Committee member Nayantara Palchaudhri said provisions for two per cent of corporate net profit will help mobilise greater CSR fund.
