Vivek Express to tour North East

The two-coach exhibition train, travelling through the length and breadth of the country to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, will leave Raiganj in West Bengal on June 3 and will subsequently travel to New Coochbehar, Kamakhya, Mariani, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Lumding, Rangiya and Katihar till June 20.

Swami Vivekananda's life time works have been displayed in the two coaches in an endeavour to highlight the selfless service rendered by the great sanyasi to the cause of humanity, NF Railway spokesman S Hajong said here today.

The exhibition will be kept open for public from 08.00 am to 08.00 pm and all are requested to visit the exhibition to pay a fitting tribute to the great social worker of India.

The train was inaugurated by then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee on January 12, 2011.
