VOC Port handles record cargo of 1.62 lk tonne on single day

The V O C Port here has handled a record 1.62 lakh tonne of cargo on a single day.
The previous highest cargo handling in a day was 1.61 lakh tonnes on August 10, 2015, Port Trust Chairman Anandha Chandrabose said in a release.
The new record was created by handling cargo, including coal, wheat, fertiliser and lime, the release said.
