The company plans to tap education hubs, famous industrial clusters and defence personnel located across Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Pathankot and Amritsar with the launch of its mobile money tranfer and payment service.
This service will be beneficial for students studying in different colleges in the state.
Moreover it will also be beneficial for migrants from Bihar who are working in factories at different industrial verticals for sending money to their families, Vodafone India, Business Head (Punjab, HP, J&K) Asit Shekhar said here today.
This service allows customers to transfer money to any mobile phone, remit money to any bank account, make utility payments, recharge of mobile, DTH payment and earn interest on deposits.

The subscriber will first have to deposit Rs 200 as registration fee and he will be charged Rs 10 per transaction for payment of utility bills.
"M-Pesa offers millions of people including unbankes and underserviced sections of society, basis financial services. Today, less than 5 per cent of villages in India have a banking outlet.
"Financial inclusion is national priority. We believe that with M-Pesa we now have the ideal offering to facilitate the same across the country," said Vodafone, Business Head M-Pesa Suresh Sethi said.
Vodafone has already rolled out M-Pesa in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, West Bengal, UP East, UP West, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Assam, North East and Haryana.
