Vohra expresses grief over death of pilgrims

Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra, who is also the chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, today expressed grief over the tragic helicopter crash in Katra in which six pilgrims and a woman pilot was killed.
In a condolence message, the Governor prayed for peace to the departed souls and for strength to the bereaved families in their hour of grief.
Earlier in the day, immediately after receiving information about the crash, the Governor directed the CEO of the Shrine Board to rush to the site and make all necessary arrangements for medical examination and transportation of the bodies to their respective homes.
He also asked the DGCA to order an immediate inquiry into the incident.
The Governor has issued directions for the payment of ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh each to the next of kin of those killed.
