Seeking votes for his party, National Conference senior leader Devender Singh Rana today urged electors to strengthen the hands of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for steering the state to pinnacles of development.
"We urge the people to strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for steering Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions to pinnacles of progress and development," Rana, who is NC candidate from Nagrota assembly constituency, said.
Referring to the commitment of NC to empower women and creating job opportunities for educated unemployed youths, Rana said several initiatives have already been taken which have opened up vistas of opportunities for the targeted segments.
On employment generation, Rana said the innovative programmes undertaken by the Chief Minister like 'Himayat' and 'Udaan' have immense potential for the young people of Nagrota who are second to none in talent.
He also referred to various schemes launched for women empowerment, especially giving them due representation in grassroots level democratic institutions to ensure their greater role in decision making.
Saying development forms core of his agenda for Nagrota, Rana spelled out his priorities for realising the goal of transforming it as a model constituency with modular facilities.
"Transforming Nagrota into 'Nava Jammu' is a collective vision of the residents of this constituency and the day is not far when it will become a reality," provincial president, NC, Rana said while addressing a gathering at Jandyal.
