Vrindavan widows have taken to the streets to protest against a governmental organisation for allegedly providing poor quality services to them.
They have alleged that the quality of services has gone down after the Uttar Pradesh Mahila Kalyan Nigam was given the charge of their welfare by the state government.
The widows also objected against the proposal of a common kitchen, saying that they want to cook their own food.
The Uttar Pradesh government had given the task of looking after these widows to Mahila Kalyan Nigam two months back.
Prior to it, some NGOs were involved in looking after them.
However, following an inspection by Principal Secretary of state's Women Welfare Department Renuka Kumar who was allegedly unsatisfied with the services being provided by the NGOs, the charge was given to Mahila Kalyan Nigam.
The widows have demanded that the state government must hand over the charge of their welfare to the previous NGOs.
