VSEL's public interest director Rajesh Nagda resigns

Vadodara Stock Exchange Ltd's (VSEL) Public Interest Director Rajesh Nagda has resigned from his post after the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) disapproved the VSEL board's recommendation, appointing him as VSEL Chairman.
The VSEL chairman's post has been lying vacant since October 10, 2013.
"I have resigned from the post, since it is not possible for me to spare more time for VSEL, because I am busy with my proprietary chartered account firm," Nagda told PTI here today.

Startup Village witnesses record 286 sign-ups in February * Startup Village here has clocked a new milestone with a record 286 young applicants signing up at the mobile-internet technology incubator in February, hoping to bring their fledgling business ideas to life.
A total of 286 would-be entrepreneurs, the highest number for any month, applied online in February expressing interest in signing up with the incubation programme, taking cue from the success of other companies like RHL Vision and MobME Wireless Solutions, incubated at the Start-up Village and Technopark-TBI respectively.

Mobile tower radiation is not harmful, says top DoT official * Radiation from a mobile tower at any point is kept well below international safety recommendation limits, a senior Department of Telecommunications official said allaying fears that it could adversly impact health.
The radiation transmitted by a mobile tower at any point is kept below 0.45w per square meter, which is comfortably lower than the international safety recommendation of 1w per square meter, Deputy Director General of Telecom Enforcement and Resources & Monitoring Cell (Kerala) V Raghunandan said.
He was speaking at a two-day national conference on Wireless Communication, Microelectronics and Emerging Technology (WICOMET) at the Toc H Institute of Science and Technology (TIST) here.
