The CBI, which is investigating the Vyapam scam, filed the charge sheet on June 29, 2016.
Umesh Shrivastava moved the application before the special court of JP Singh stating that the prosecution has submitted the charge sheet in English, which is an unfamiliar language for him.
He argued that he is incapable of defending himself as he did not understand the language in the charge sheet.
In a written reply today, the CBI told the court that it has not violated any law by filing the charge sheet in English. The investigation agency requested the court to reject Shrivastava's application as it is causing unnecessary delay in the hearing.

On the basis of this entrance examination, the candidates were given the admission in the government medical colleges of the state.
Vyapam is now rechristened as Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board.
The FIR was also lodged against Shrivastava along with his three associates at Sanyogitaganj police station of Indore for this fraud.
