A 25-year-old woman trainee sub-inspector, who got into the police force through an exam conducted under the Vyapam scheme, was today found dead in a lake in Sagar.
Police suspect it to be a suicide.
The body of trainee sub-inspector, Anamika Sikarwar (25), was found in the lake adjacent to the Police Training Academy in Sagar district headquarters, City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Gautam Solanki said.
Anamika was married and a resident of Morena district. She got selected as sub-inspector in an exam conducted as part of the Vyapam programme.
However, the CSP said that her selection has nothing to do with Vyapam scam and she was not a suspected beneficiary.
She was found missing from her room and later her body was found in the lake. It is suspected to be a case of suicide, he said.
Police rushed her immediately to the district hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.
The cops have sealed her room in the academy; no suicide note has been found yet. The exact cause will be known after a probe, Solanki said, adding that initial investigations are on.
