Members of Youth Congress today took out a candle march and demanded Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation over the death of a journalist covering Vyapam scam.
Addressing a gathering after the march, Youth Congress national president Amrinder Singh Raja Brar said,"We demand immediate resignation of MP Chief Minister over the deaths in connection with the scam."
The march started from Youth Congress' office and culminated at Jantar Mantar.
Brar said that an independent and impartial probe into the Vyapam scandal is not possible till the Chief Minister remains in chair as the investigating agencies are functioning under state government.
Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue, he said that its high time that he should break his silence on the issue.
Amid mounting outrage over the Vyapam deaths, Opposition today sharpened its attack on Chouhan, demanding his sacking over "cold-blooded murders" but BJP backed its beleaguered leader and disfavoured CBI probe.

TV journalist Akshay Singh died on Saturday under mysterious circumstances soon after he had interviewed the parents of a girl who was found dead after her name figured in the massive admission and recruitment scandal.
"The unfortunate and somewhat mysterious deaths of a journalist and Dean of JMC in the last couple of days has taken the death toll to about 47, all of whom died in inexplicable circumstances.
"The lack of action by the MP government and the silence of PM Modi on this issue further adds to the scandalous nature of this scam. The manner in which one by one many key witnesses and investigating officers have been eliminated, highly suggests of a intricate link between the state government and the mafia," Brar said.
