Replying to a volley of questions here, Paswan who heads Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) a key NDA ally in Bihar said the Narendra Modi government is not dependent upon allies as BJP alone has the majority.
He was replying to questions whether the scam will have some impact on Bihar polls and how does his party view the on-going controversy.
To a question about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'silence' on the issue, Paswan, the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said," the Prime Minister is competent. The Prime Minister knows when he has to speak. The PM will take a decision."
He also praised Chouhan as a leader "who listens to the poor".
"Shivraj Chouhan belongs to a poor family. He listens to the poor," Paswan said. He at the same time added now it's not only the Vyapam issue but the deaths are happening, which is "condemnable".
Asked whether the issue will have any impact on Bihar polls, he said," this will have no impact on Bihar elections.
